Redmi note phone screen not turning off during call (Proximity sensor issue)
Many users are complaining that Redmi Note 3 phone was working good for some time, but soon it seems that while in call the phone screen light is not going off when it was put near the ear. Some users have complained that screen goes black during call and does not come back until some button is pressed. It is very irritating as it does create many troubles like unknown hold the callee. However there are no information release on this by Xiaomi but you may try below troubleshoot to solve proximity sensor issue in redmi note 3 and 4.
Phone Case wrong case:
Check if you have a phone case on it that covers the proximity sensor? Please Try taking off the case and see if that helps
Turn off Auto brightness:
Make sure your auto brightness is turned off and then restart the redmi phone. For many users this has worked as autobrightess feature of redmi seems to create trouble for redmi note 3 phones.
Reset proximity sensor:
dial *#36# to reset the proximity sensor and this may fixed the problem
MakeSure you check the following setting:
checkbox under Settings > Device > Call Settings > Turn off screen during calls "Turn on proximity sensor during calls" is checked.
calibrate your proximity sensor
In settings -> About phone -> tap five times on kernal version -> proximatity sensor.Do a test, if your phones is failing the test, press calibrate button. This thing may or may not work well.
Restart the phone :
This may seems to fix the problem for 4-5 calls, but user have reported that the issue may occur again after sometimes.
However different solution are working for different people, but from all above given option turning off the auto brightness followed by a restart seems to work for most of the users.
